One of Six Crime Labs in the Southeast to Earn Accreditation
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Aegis® CRIMES, a specialty division of Aegis Sciences Corp., is one of six independent laboratories in the Southeast to earn the prestigious Crime Laboratory Accreditation by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB).
Aegis® CRIMES, a forensic chemical and drug testing laboratory, met or exceeded the increasingly stringent and rigorous requirements of the ASCLD/LAB Accreditation program established more than 25 years ago. Through the on-site inspection process, Aegis® CRIMES demonstrated that its management practices, personnel qualifications, operational and technical procedures, equipment, and physical facilities met the nationally recognized standards for a forensic laboratory.
"This accreditation confirms our role as experts in forensic sciences and is a seal of approval validating the quality of our work for all the crime labs and police departments we work with throughout the U.S.," said Dr. David L. Black, CEO of Aegis Sciences. "Aegis now joins an elite group of less than a quarter of independent crime labs with ASCLD/LAB Accreditation."
ASCLD/LAB Accreditation provides an impartial and objective system by which laboratories can improve quality through a complete operational review. As a result, accredited laboratories are less likely to have their work findings scrutinized in criminal cases.
