Through a partnership with the Nashville Humane Association, Comcast provides video profiles of cats and dogs looking for new families on its On Demand service each month. Every two weeks, profiles will be refreshed with new faces as the animals are adopted into loving homes.
“The partnership with the Nashville Humane Association is a terrific fit since it matches the convenience of On Demand with a wonderful cause,” said Terri Weldon, director of public relations, Comcast of Middle Tennessee. “We are always looking for new ways to deliver unique, local programming to our customers and the added appeal of finding homes for these animals underscores the value of this service.”
“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with Comcast to help place our pets in new homes,” said Mary Pat Boatfield, executive director of the Nashville Humane Association. “Pet Adoptions On Demand will provide a successful avenue to showcase our pets to those in search of that special friend.”
Comcast Digital Cable customers can view animal profiles at no additional cost by going to the “Get Local” section of the On Demand menu and selecting “Pet Adoptions.” In the profiles, staff members interact with each animal and talk about its unique personality and ideal living environment. Profiles, ranging in length from one to two minutes, are categorized by animal type and size.
Each pet profile bears a unique tag identification number. Viewers who are interested in visiting or adopting an animal featured on Pet Adoptions On Demand can visit the Nashville Humane Association’s website at www.nashvillehumane.org for more information.
