KVBPR BECOMES TENNESSEE'S ONLY PUBLIC RELATIONS FIRM CERTIFIED AS A "WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESS"
September 09, 2009
KVBPR (Katcher Vaughn & Bailey Public Relations, Inc.) is the first Tennessee public relations firm to receive national certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise from the Women’s Business Enterprise Council South.
The certification for “women-owned businesses” requires that one or more women own and control at least 51 percent of the business. The certification process includes an in-depth review of the business and a site inspection to confirm that company management and daily operations are run by women owners.
“As the only WBENC-certified public relations firm in Tennessee, this designation gives us a distinct competitive advantage in our work with clients and partners in the civic growth and development and health care industries,” said Aileen R. Katcher, KVBPR founding partner. “Working with minority and women-owned businesses is of particular importance for those who need public relations support for projects that qualify for American Reinvestment and Recovery Act funding.”
The firm is owned by Katcher, Greg Bailey and Nancy DeKalb.
WBEC South is a regional certifying partner of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation’s largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States. More than 700 U.S. companies and government agencies rely on WBENC’s certification as a vital part of their supplier diversity programs.
